David Masomo

Managing Director
David Masomo is the co-founder of Mavuno. He is originally from North-Kivu province in eastern Congo. War and its consequences marked most of his youth, but he remains undeterred in his pursuit of positive change for DRC. David holds a B.A. in Economics from the Adventist University of Lukanga, an Advanced Diploma in Computer Hardware and Networking from India, and a M.A. in Agriculture and Rural Development from Hankyong University in South Korea. He has worked with the Independent Electoral Commission, the Stabilization and Reconstruction Program for Eastern Congo (STAREC), the United Nations Development Programme, and for DRC's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as the personal assistant to the Minister. David lives in Beni, North-Kivu with his wife and daughter.
Philemon

Philemon Mulondi

Community mobilizer
Philemon Mulondi, Mavuno’s Community Mobilizer, is a native of North Kivu province in DRC. He is certified as a Specialist in Health and Community Development from the Free University of the Great Lakes Countries (ULPGL) in Goma, DRC. He is also a certified Technician of Rural Development by ISDR Beni, and a Veterinarian from the Institute of Agricultural and Veterinary Technique (ITAV) in Butembo. Philemon has worked as a community mobilizer in several international NGOs, including Veterinarians Without Borders, The Dutch Consortium for Rehabilitation, Merlin, and the United Nations Development Programme. Philemon lives in Butembo with his wife and four children. “My vision in Mavuno is to contribute to the education of the Congolese people through mentality transformation, which will lead to sustainable development.”
Remy

Remy Kasiki

Project Supervisor

Remy Kasiki works as Mavuno’s Monitoring & Evaluation Officer and serves as consulting support to the technical team on the field. He is a native of North Kivu, where he lives with his wife, son and nephew. He has a degree in Environmental Management and Sustainable Development, and has worked with several NGOs in the region. Remy works with both the US and Congo teams, creating systems that track and demonstrate program impact. From a young age, Remy has always fought for self-care and community leadership. He is proud to serve for the promotion of rural communities through the sustainable use of their local potential. He believes that his dream will become a reality with Mavuno.

Tsongo Kivatsi

Agricultural Production Supervisor
Tsongo Kivatsi serves as Mavuno’s Chief Agronomist. He is a native of North Kivu province in the DRC. After receiving a degree in industrial electricity in Goma, DRC, Tsongo studied agricultural science at the Catholic University of Graben in Butembo, DRC. Tsongo's quiet leadership and confident expertise has earned him the deep respect of our partner communities, where he is viewed as part of the community. This local trust is invaluable to his ability to deliver effective agricultural training. He is driven by the philosophy of Mavuno, and is excited to use his professional capacity to directly affect the holistic development of rural Congolese
